It is convenient when you want a permanent name from a variable IP address (for example to access a home server, camera or NAS device).<\/p>\n\n<h2>1. Overview<\/h2>\n<p>Open in the menu <strong>Domains<\/strong> well <strong>Dynamic DNS<\/strong>. The tabs show how many DDNS hostnames you have and how many are active. How to create a DDNS hostname<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Click <strong>Add DDNS hostname<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hostname:<\/strong> enter the desired name (eg <code>home-server.mydomain.rs<\/code>).<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong>. How to automatically update the IP<\/h2>\n<p>Set up your router, a cron task, or a small script to call periodically <strong>Update URL<\/strong>. Each call writes your latest IP address into the DNS record, so the hostname always points to you. Column <strong>Update URL<\/strong> you can find it in the table next to hostname.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote><p><strong>Security:<\/strong> The update URL contains a secret token.
