Email routing determines where incoming mail is delivered for each domain, and the default address (Catch-All) determines what happens to messages sent to addresses that do not exist on your domain.<\/p>\n\n

1. Mail routing<\/h2>\n

Open in the menu Email<\/strong> well Email routing<\/strong>. For each domain, you choose the delivery method:<\/p>\n\n\n
Mode<\/th>What does it do?<\/th><\/tr><\/thead>\n
Local<\/strong><\/td>Delivers mail to mailboxes on this server (you use email accounts from the panel).<\/td><\/tr>\n
Remote<\/strong><\/td>Forwards all mail to an external mail server via MX records. Use this if you manage your email through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.<\/td><\/tr>\n
Auto-detection<\/strong><\/td>Automatically checks a domain's MX records and routes accordingly.<\/td><\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Select the mode for the domain and click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

2. Default Address (Catch-All)<\/h2>\n

Catch-All determines what happens to mail sent to a non-existent address on your domain. Choose a domain, then an action:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Reject with error:<\/strong> returns the message to the sender with a notification that the address does not exist.<\/li>\n
  • Forward to the address:<\/strong> sends all such mail to a single mailbox of your choice.<\/li>\n
  • Quietly dismiss:<\/strong> discards the message without notifying the sender.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Click Save Catch-All settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    Note:<\/strong> if you run your email through Google or Microsoft, set the routing to Remote<\/strong> that the mail goes to them. Catch-All is the safest Reject with error<\/strong> or Quietly dismiss.<\/strong>, because forwarding all the odd mail easily fills the inbox with spam.<\/p><\/blockquote>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
