Google penalizes sites that are not mobile friendly

Google recently made big changes to mobile search, and sites that aren't considered "mobile friendly" will experience a drastic drop in rankings. Recent statistics have shown that 29 percent of people in the US use mobile devices when searching, and nearly a third of all Google users now rely heavily on mobile devices when searching for information. In the US alone, there were 18.5 billion mobile search results in the last three months of last year.

This statistic is also relevant for most other regions in the world, and in some mobile searches exceed a third of the total. Google completely updated mobile search on Tuesday, and those who have already adjusted their sites to the new Google standards remain at the top of searches. Sites that fail to do so will drop drastically in search results or even disappear, Google said.
