Google cloud now has a new big client, its rival Apple. This news is very important for Google as a company that wants to become a leader when it comes to the cloud. Of course, this is a huge loss for Amazon, which is otherwise the leader when it comes to cloud data on the market. Apple reportedly chose Google's platform to move away from Amazon's platform and Microsoft's Azure, but the company will also continue to use their services.
Google is trying to secure a large number of business firms for its platform, and perhaps offer some special offers to its technological rivals. Google was a long way off in third place after Amazon and Microsoft. Recent research has shown that only 6 percent use Google, 17% Microsoft and even 57 use Amazon. Apple will bring Google between 400 and 600 million dollars annually.
However, this agreement does not necessarily mean that it is in the long run. Apple is rumored to be planning to build its own buildings and servers to house data. Apple has announced that it will open three data centers soon, in order to reduce the cost it incurred of 1 billion paying Amazon for services. Analysts are talking about the fact that Apple may even move to its own data centers in 3 years to avoid the costs of Amazon, Google and Microsoft.
Although the current deal is for a short period of time, Google will continue to make efforts to secure large contracts for its services. In the past, the company has focused on similar small campaigns and startup projects, but in recent months this giant has announced that the Spotify music streaming service will be transferred to their services.
Cloud-computing service is now the main focus of Google. The company wants to achieve the goal of earning more than ads by the end of 2020.
