What is SSL and what types are there?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). In order not to bother you with technical details about the technology that is being used and why it is good and what all the advantages it brings and why SSL should be used, we will briefly explain what SSL is and why it is good to use it.

SSL is actually the https in the link or the green padlock next to the site name (for example, www.webhostingsrbija.rs). This means that the site is additionally protected.
This means that there is data encryption between the site itself and the user who visits it, making it harder for hackers to violate the privacy of the user or the site itself.

In addition to the key advantage of security, it has nowadays (since 2016) become a ranking parameter on Google. Google introduced that sites that have SSL (https green in the link) will rank better than those that don't.

There are different types of SSL.

We have Free cPanel SSL (cPanel) offered by Comodo.
Then we also have PositiveSSL, which in terms of technical characteristics is no different from the free one.
Next in line is PositiveSSL WildCard, it means you provide SSL (https) and for your subdomains it means *.vasdomen.rs, which is not possible with Free and PositiveSSL.
The latest EV SSL Greenbar is actually the most popular SSL among large companies because in addition to data encryption and high security, it also offers the possibility to have the company's name appear next to your site as in the image below:

All this helps to make your site extra secure, visitors have a greater sense of security and of course better positioning on Google.
